Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar says Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is unable to address the pressing issues affecting the country and is calling on him to take the suffering of the population seriously.
In a press release following the PNM's meeting in San Fernando on Thursday evening, Persad-Bissessar said at no time did the PM stand his ground to confront the problems terrorising citizens.
According to the Opposition Leader, these include murders, robberies, high food prices, unemployment, corruption and a crashing justice system.
She says instead the PM chose to boast that the firing of over 10,000 workers at Petrotrin was a success., blamed citizens for crime because they were not reporting to the police, and cried about his hurt feelings concerning a doctorate.
Persad-bissessar said all the country witnessed from him was a cowardly retreat into victimhood and blame game rhetoric.
She said the UNC has offered anti-crime plans, economic transformation plans, healthcare plans, education plans and revenue generation strategies which he has repeatedly refused to consider.
