Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is urging National Security Minister Stuart Young to take any evidence he has on human trafficking to the police.
Young had told Guardian Media’s The Morning Brew that he has information that people involved with the UNC are involved in human trafficking.
Persad-Bissessar was at the time speaking with Guardian Media yesterday when she participated in a UNC motorcade in Chaguanas.
She said, “Those words come from a desperate man, to create distractions because they know they cannot win elections and they are clutching at straws.”

Persad Bissessar said the UNC will win the two seats in Chaguanas with flying colours.
Speaking on the decision by Nafeesa Mohammed to leave the PNM and support the UNC’s candidate Saddam Hosein in Barataria/San Juan, Persad-Bissessar said, “I am very happy that Nafeesa has seen the light and that Saddam is well poised to win the seat. It is a democracy—people are free to choose. She has made the only choice at this time which is to support the UNC.”
Persad-Bissessar said that having endorsed Hosein, Nafeesa may very well work with Hosein. The UNC leader said she was yet to speak with Mohammed.
