Tobago Homicide Officers say they have garnered enough evidence during their investigations into the murder of Donald 'Sonny' Parks to arrest and charge a 22-year-old suspect.
Parks, 85, a retired police officer and businessman, was killed at his Summer Hill home on March 12.
Guardian Media understands that an investigative file was prepared and is scheduled to be taken to the Director of Public Prosecutions Thursday for instructions on whether to go ahead with the charges against the man, who surrendered to police in the company of an attorney the day after the murder.
Parks was the owner of the popular Endeavour's Children and Maternity Store at Carrington Street, Scarborough. He was shot by a masked assailant who was allegedly waiting in his yard to rob him. An undisclosed amount of Trinidad and Tobago and United States currency was taken.
He was shot in his lower lip, protruding to the lower gum, into the skull, with no exit wounds
Parks is scheduled to be laid to rest on March 27 at the Scarborough Methodist Church.
