A 40-year-old Point Fortin man currently is warded at the San Fernando General Hospital in a stable condition, after he was shot by a lone gunman in his home, on Tuesday afternoon.
Reports are that Akinola Bartholomew was sitting in the living room of his home at Salazar Trace when the gunman entered through the back door.
The assailant reportedly was dressed in a hoodie and with a red bandana covering his face. He is said to have pointed the gun at Bartholomew, who got up off the chair and started running out of his house. The gunman opened fire, hitting Bartholomew on his left thigh.
The gunman then ran through some bushes and escaped.
Bartholomew was treated at the Point Fortin Area Hospital and then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he is warded in a stable condition.
WCpl Frederick, Insp Rampartap, Cpl Singh and WPC Blaize visited the scene.
