A 23-year-old me­chan­ic has been charged with the mur­der of Scott Ram­baran, whose body was found in D’Abadie on Ju­ly 10th.

Justin Baird, of St He­le­na and Arou­ca, al­so faced charges of pos­ses­sion of a firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion when he ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Lisa Singh-Phillip at the High Court on Mon­day. The suf­fi­cien­cy hear­ing has been set for Jan­u­ary 30th, 2026.

Ram­baran, a 35-year-old labour­er from Pi­ar­co, was found dead ear­li­er this month.

Po­lice ar­rest­ed a sus­pect in Arou­ca on Ju­ly 22nd. Charges were laid fol­low­ing ad­vice from Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions Roger Gas­pard SC.
