The Met Office is continuing the Riverine Flood Alert for Trinidad and Tobago.
In its latest bulletin at midnight, the Met office said that Trinidad's major watercourses have reached or exceeded threshold capacities.
The statement said the Met Office has received numerous reports of ongoing riverine flooding nationwide (except northwestern and southeastern areas), with floodwaters currently rising in a few communities.
It said that there is no impactful rainfall forecast overnight.
As such, floodwaters are expected to gradually subside by mid-morning.
It is advising people to carefully monitor weather conditions and river/water levels and monitor updates from official sources and plan safety measures and do not take unnecessary risks.
