These were among public health restrictions announced by Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh during the regular media update on the COVID-19 pandemic. The measures were taken following an increase in COVID-19 cases.
The other restrictions being enforced include a reduction in public gatherings from ten people to five and the closure of all beaches to the public. Boat tours on Buccoo Reef are allowed but no music can be played
Minister Deyalsingh said the second phase of the vaccine rollout is scheduled to start on Saturday with the vaccination of essential workers. This group includes Parliamentarians and their spouses, senior public officers, police and fire officers and members of the Defence Force.
