Wayne Johnson, 35, of Canon Stroek Lane, Princes Town, has before Senior Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine in the the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court charged with possession of an illegal gun and ammunition, possession of firearm and ammunition to endanger life, and wounding with intent.
He has been denied bail.
A police release said on September 10, 2021, a man and his friend were at a house drinking, when one of the men allegedly took out his firearm and began playing with it.
After several attempts to influence the man to stop playing with the firearm, it went off wounding his friend in his back.
A report was made to the Princes Town Police Station and members of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) led by Sgt Teeluck vwent to the scene and investigated the matter.
The gun was seized and Johnson was arrested and charged with the offences.
Johnson is expected to reappear in the same court on October 14
