Anti-crime exercises in the Maraval and Glencoe Districts on Tuesday led to the discovery and seizure of quantities of marijuana, a bulletproof vest, ski masks, walkie talkies, along with paraphernalia used for packaging drugs.
According to official police reports, the anti-crime exercise in the Western Division was conducted between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Tuesday 7th April 2020.
During the exercise, Western Division Police executed a warrant on certain premises at Boissiere Village in Maraval, where nothing was found on site. However, further checks led to the discovery of 3kg of marijuana, one scale, a bulletproof vest and two ski masks. They had been hidden in a river located at the back of the premises.
Police also acted on information received about the conduct of illegal actives at an abandoned house at La Horquette Branch Road, Glencoe.
A search at that location resulted in the seizure of 3.7kg of high-grade marijuana, four walkie-talkies, two rolls of plastic and a machine used for packaging.
The exercise was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Thompson, coordinated by ASP Henry and supervised by Cpl Young. It included members of the Western Division Joint Army and Police (J.A.P) Patrol Unit and officers from the Mounted and K9 Branch.
Investigations are ongoing.
