The government has no intention of offering police officers more than a 4 per cent salary increase.
This is according to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social and Welfare Association.
The association met with the Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) on Sunday for another round of negotiations.
It says a counter-proposal of 15 per cent for 2014 to 2016 and 12 per cent for 2017 to 2019 was made for police officers, however, this was rejected by CPO Daryl Dindial.
The association says it was then the CPO indicated that the government's offer of 4 per cent for 2014 to 2019 was the final one.
The association says it will receive written communication from the CPO next week after which it will be meeting with its membership.
