Three men at­tempt­ed to rob the Re­pub­lic Bank ATM at the Shoppes of Mar­aval, Sad­dle Road, Mar­aval, in the ear­ly hours to­day. 

The se­cu­ri­ty guard re­port­ed see­ing a white Wag­on with four men dri­ve on­to the com­pound around 2.21 am on De­cem­ber 9.

As one of the sus­pects ran up and or­dered him to get on the ground, the oth­er three sus­pects re­port­ed­ly walked over to the steel back door lo­cat­ed on the south­ern side of the com­pound.

He claimed the sus­pects used a drill and a grinder in an at­tempt to cut the bolt hinges off the steel door, but af­ter sev­er­al un­suc­cess­ful at­tempts, they aban­doned the ef­fort and fled along Sad­dle Road in their car.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
