One man was arrested and a firearm and a magazine with eight rounds of 40 calibre ammunition were seized during a police exercise yesterday.
The exercise coordinated by Snr Supt Aguilal and conducted in Sangre Grande between 1 pm and 4 pm was supervised by Sgt Harper and Cpl Ramnarine and included Officers of Sangre Grande Criminal Investigation Department and Special Operations Unit.
According to police reports, during the exercise, four houses were searched and one person was arrested when a search warrant was executed at a house on Coronation Road, Upper Sangre Grande. During the search one Walter P99 40 calibre pistol serial, fitted with a magazine with eight rounds 40 calibre ammunition was found in the home. A male tenant of the house was arrested and the items seized. PC Budhooram is continuing enquiries.
