A prisoner’s dash for freedom from a medical institution on Sunday night was short-lived after he was held and is now back in custody.
According to a police report, at about 7.20 pm while receiving treatment at the Caura Hospital the prisoner managed to escape.
The police were immediately notified by hospital officials and a team from the Northern Division including Snr Supt Paul and Supt Brandon-John and the Air Support Unit launched a search.
The prisoner, who was in the custody of the police before he was taken for treatment, was spotted walking along Goya Road shortly after midnight on Sunday.
He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Arouca Police Station.
