The TTPS has recovered one stolen vehicle in La Romaine and has arrested one man in connection with the theft. David Ramsey, of St Mary’s Village, South Oropouche, was stopped by Police on Hector Street, La Romaine while driving a black Kia Cerato bearing registration plates, PDM 124.
According to police reports, upon being stopped, Ramsey fled from the vehicle in an attempt to escape the officers, but he was held. Further enquiries revealed that the vehicle he was driving bore false registration plates and had been stolen from the owner earlier this month. Ramsey was taken into custody and placed in an identification parade where he was pinpointed by the owner as the assailant. He was formally charged for the offence of robbery with violence and appeared before San Fernando Magistrate before being remanded into custody.
