A sales training agency in Trinidad and Tobago is advising local businesses to relook the way they operate.
“Sales as a Profession” founder Jarrod Best-Mitchell told the Sunday Guardian that business leaders need to understand that how they operate their businesses, isn’t how their buyers want to be sold.
“They must be committed to making the changes that are necessary to assist their buyers in making a decision,” he said.
“Our conference will introduce businesses to modern techniques which will help them overcome these barriers successfully.”
After the onset of the pandemic in 2020 this country saw a major shift to online sales.
While Best-Mitchell said this is the way to go he added that not all business are doing it right. He also explained that when the business sector reopened in 2021 many businesses reverted to traditional methods.
“Like a moth to a flame,” he said.
“Online sales should and can be offered by most businesses in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. We believe that despite the economic challenges, there is a massive buying public who wants to use their local debit cards online to buy a company’s products or services but are choosing to go on Amazon or international sites because the facilities and convenience are there at the click of a button.”
Best-Mitchell and his business partner started hosting the SaaP Sales conference back in 2019. In 2020 and 2021 the conference was hosted virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“Our aim is to improve the sales performance and sales strategies used by individuals and companies in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean and do that using primarily local and regional speakers,” Best-Mitchell said.
“This is to show attendees that the local sales expertise does exist and it inspires them to go out and action what they’ve learnt.
“Is your organisation’s goal to grow its ReveNEW? Then you should attend.
However, our focus has always been sales leaders of organisations as well as their teams. Normally we would focus on a specific niche like insurance, real estate, distribution, or tech however every organisation’s focus is on growing their reveNEW.”
The SaaP Sales Conference, which is themed ReveNEW, is scheduled to take place at The Hilton Trinidad from June 14-17, 2022. Sponsors include Guardian Media Limited, Guardian Life of the Caribbean, Massy Motors, Giscad, Bryden PI and EXCO.
