A security officer was shot early Thursday morning while in the carpark of a casino at Ariapita Avenue in Woodbrook.
He, however, succumbed to injuries at hospital.
According to a police report, at about 2.15 am Anthony "Ace" Hume, 26, of Paradise Heights, Morvant was shot in the carpark of Royal Caribbean Casino.
He was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
Hume is the second security officer to have been killed in a week.
Last Thursday Ricardo Dixon, 22, was shot and thrown out of a vehicle in Carlsen Field.
It is suspected that Dixon, the father of one, was picked up while he was walking out Bhagna Trace in Chase Village.
He was supposed to get a taxi to Chaguanas from the triangle in Chase Village at the top of Bhagna Trace and then from Chaguanas another taxi to his location in Endeavour.
It was his first day on the job with Heller Security Services.
A motive is yet to be determined for Hume's murder.
The murder toll now stands at 244.
