Police arrested six people, including a suspect in a recent shooting and two for involvement in criminal gangs during an exercise in St Joseph early Tuesday morning.
The exercise was spearheaded by ACP Belfon and Snr Supt Ramdeen and was supervised by ASP Coggins, Insp Pitt, Insp Highly, ASP Maraj and Insp Hernandez, and included members of the St. Joseph CID and Charge room, Maloney CID, Gang Unit, NDSIU, NDTF- Areas East, West and Central, Canine Unit, Air Support Unit, MOPS and IATF.
A 39-year-old man, of Longden Street St. Joseph, was held for possession of 373.8 grams of marijuana; a 38-year-old, also of Longden Street. for questioning about a shooting; two men ages36 and 46 for alleged gang activity. Police also arrested a 32-year-old man, of Streatham Lodge Road, and another from Orange Grove Road, on outstanding warrants
Warrants were executed at homes in La Mango and Longden Street.
PC Johnson of Northern Division Task Force Area East had to be taken for medical attention after he was stung by bees.
