A 39-year-old man from Talparo was arrested on Wednesday night for illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition, after police officers searched his home.
According to a police report, at about 10 pm, a party of officers from the San Raphael Police Station went to the home of a suspect at Talparo Main Road, Talparo, to execute a search warrant.
The officers searched the premises and found and seized one Indumil .38 revolver, along with 14 rounds of .38 ammunition, which had been hidden in a wardrobe of his bedroom.
The suspect was arrested in connected with the find and is expected to be charged later today.
The anti-crime exercise was led by W/Cpl Thomas, and PCs Garcia, Kokeran and Hinds. They were assisted by officers from the La Horquetta Crime Patrol—PCs Frankly, Branker, Chadee and WPC Gibson.
