Three men have been arrested after being caught in a police dragnet carried out by the Southern Division Task Force, during the hours of 4 pm and 10 pm, on Saturday 7th November 2020.
An official statement from the TTPS reports that officers conducted the anti-crime exercise in the St. Margaret’s, Gasparillo and Barrackpore areas, specifically targeting several drug blocks.
According to the TTPS release, during the police searches:
● A 56-year-old man of Ramdhanie Trace, St. Margaret’s, Claxton Bay, was arrested for possession of cocaine.
● A 26-year-old man of Bonne Aventure Road, Gasparillo, was arrested for possession of marijuana.
● A 57-year-old man of Wilson Road, Barrackpore, was arrested for possession of a gun and ammunition.
Police reports state that while conducting the exercise, the officers received information that led them to an abandoned silo off the M2 Ring Road, where they discovered a 12-gauge shotgun wrapped in a black plastic bag. The weapon was seized by police.
Investigations into all four matters are continuing.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Winchester, Supt Doodhai, Supt Nobbie, ASP Ramdass, and Insp Teeluck. It was supervised by Sgt Joseph and Cpl Charles, and included PCs Branch, Raghonanan, Legendre, Samaroo, Ramdhanie, Guerra, Loutan, Phagoo, Ramlochan Baker and WPC Renne.
