Three men were arrested and a quantity of marijuana seized by officers of the Tobago Division’s Emergency Response Patrol Unit.
The seizure was made during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Crown Point district.
A statement from the Police Service said officers were on mobile patrol when they observed a white Nissan Tiida with three men proceeding at a high speed.
The officers gave chase and managed to intercept the vehicle at Milford Road, Canaan.
A search of the vehicle resulted in 1.73 kilogrammes of marijuana being discovered hidden in three packages in the front passenger door, the driver’s door and the right rear back door.
The estimated street value of the drug is $17,300.
The three suspects, ages 26 to 37-years-old, all of Trinidad, were arrested in connection with the find.
Investigations are ongoing.
