Another major COVID-19 vaccination drive at the Divali Nagar site will be carried out on Sunday 13th June 2021, another instalment in the ‘Vaccinate to Operate’ initiative, spearheaded by the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA), in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).
And the TTMA has reiterated its commitment to the ‘Vaccinate to Operate’ initiative, ensuring that the business community does its part to help the country achieve herd immunity with mass vaccinations against COVID-19.
In an official statement, the TTMA reports that to date, it has successfully conducted two such vaccination drives at the Divali Nagar Site, with some 4,192 vaccinations being administered as a result—2,697 on Sunday 6th June, and 1,495 on Thursday 10th June.
“TTMA remains guided and under the supervision of the Ministry of Health for all vaccination sites, this includes the quantities of vaccines allocated to each TTMA vaccination site for administration. We are cognisant of the recent surge in demand for vaccines by the public and appreciate the Ministry’s continued confidence in TTMA to execute vaccination drives responsibly and successfully,” TTMA President, Tricia Coosal, stated.
She added: “We will utilize MOH’s vaccine allocation to TTMA by our 3rd vaccination site execution come Sunday 13th June. TTMA remains committed and stands ready to continue the execution of vaccination sites with our partners once vaccines are made available to us.”
Administration of vaccines at all TTMA vaccination sites are under the supervision of the President of the T&T Medical Association, Dr Vishi Y. Beharry, with additional medical support provided by the Association’s membership. Logistical support at the site is provided by SEWA TT International, led by Revan Teelucksingh. The site itself is supplied by the National Council of Indian Culture (NCIC).
