The following is a press release from the TTMS:
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has been closely monitoring a low-pressure system in the Atlantic which has a 90% (high) chance of development into a Tropical Depression over the next 48 hours.
The system is located at approximately 2200 km east of the Windward Islands, centred near 10N 40W and is moving westward near 19 km/hr.
Current analyses suggest that on its projected track, the centre of the system is forecast to reach the Southern Windward Islands by Saturday morning and is expected to move north of Trinidad and Tobago.
The TTMS will continue to closely monitor this system and will issue an update at 6:00 pm today or earlier if the situation warrants.
