One man has been arrested after police found a gun and ammunition in his possesion.
According to police reports, on July 26th around 11:10 am while officers were on patrol in the vicinity of the Tunapuna market, a driver of a white Nissan Wingroad breached the barrier that was set-up on the Eastern Main Road.
Cpl McKenna and PC Tannis and PC Mussio stopped the driver and searched the vehicle.
Upon so doing, they discovered a Beretta pistol with a magazine and two rounds of ammunition.
The man was immediately arrested. On July 27th, a search warrant was issued, a search of the man’s house revealed three live rounds of 9mm ammunition in a bedroom at his home.
The 40-year-old man of Amethyst Drive, Tunapuna, is expected to appear at the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Court today to answer to the charges.
