Two men are currently in police custody assisting with the investigation into a burglary in Pinto earlier today.
Pinto Police also recovered two stolen vehicles arising out of the ordeal.
According to police reports, around 4:00 am officers responded to a distress call of a home invasion along Freedom Street, Pinto Road, Arima.
While there, officers learnt that the victim was awakened by screaming.
He told police that upon reaching his bedroom door, he saw five men wearing long sleeve clothing and masks. He was subsequently tied up along with his family members.
A short while after, the men left the house leaving the victim who managed to free himself and his family members. He then observed his two vehicles, a grey Ford Ranger and a white Corolla DX Wagon, which was parked in his garage missing along with a number of household items.
Officers immediately sent out an all-points bulletin which resulted in the two vehicles being spotted in the vicinity of Punette Avenue. The vehicles, each being driven be a male driver, were immediately intercepted.
The duo was arrested and taken to the Pinto Post Police Station where they are currently assisting police with their investigations.
