The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) of Alberta, Canada and the NESC Technical Institute (NTI) on Monday. The multifaceted agreement will facilitate collaboration among the three institutions for the training, development and certification of persons not only from Trinidad and Tobago, but also from the wider Caribbean
As a result of this MoU, Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) will be promoted and enhanced, with numerous opportunities for staff, student and cultural exchange. RDP President Stuart Cullum stated that the possibility of articulation among the three institutions was very likely because of programme similarities in specific areas.
In a release, UTT stated, “This landmark agreement lends itself to the strengthening of skills training in Trinidad and Tobago, and showcases the national University’s continued commitment to the equitable enhancement of the quality of life for all.”
