A 21-year-old woman who was returning home after liming with friends was killed in car accident in Cedros on Saturday.
Sherine Sherwood, a mother of one, of Southern Main Road, Cedros, died at the scene.
The accident occurred around 2.30 am along the Southern Main Road near Perseverance Estate.
Sherwood’s cousin was dropping her to her home which was about 20 minutes away from where the accident occurred.
A police report stated the vehicle picked up a skid, flipped several times and slammed into a coconut tree.
The driver is warded at the San Fernando General Hospital.
A relative, who requested anonymity, said Sherwood lived with her 67-year-old father while her four-year-old daughter lived with her eldest sister.
She explained that Sherwood, her boyfriend and friends went to Icacos on Friday to lime because it was her boyfriend’s birthday.
But, she said her boyfriend left the lime before her and she remained with their friends.
“Sherine was not working. To me she was still a child. She was full of life, she like to explore, she like adventure. She was a jolly person to be around,” she added.
Sherwood’s mother died seven years ago and she was the youngest among four siblings.
Cedros police are investigating.
