Blackpool memorial match for Rajay

“Black­pool Sports Club of Mt Lam­bert will stage it’s 27th An­niver­sary Foot­ball match in mem­o­ry of one it’s the foun­da­tion mem­ber Ce­cil “Ra­jay”Joseph on Sun­day at the Aranguez Sa­van­nah from 4:00 pm.

In the past, the club ho­n­oured icons for their con­tri­bu­tions to sports and cul­ture, such as Alvin Corneal, Sed­ley Joseph, Ever­ald “Gal­ly”Cum­mings, Kelvin “KB” Be­ras­sa, Ger­ry Browne, Leroy de Leon, Ul­ric “Bug­gy”Haynes, El­lis and “Sam” Sadaphal and Kent Bernard.

This year the club will pay trib­ute to Robert “Rob­bie”Greenidge, an ace pan arranger, Alexan­der Al­ick”Dare, a long serv­ing con­trib­u­tor to the club, Desmond O’Brien, for his ser­vices to foot­ball in the East, es­pe­cial­ly Pro­gres­sive Youth Move­ment (PYM) Foot­ball League, Ran­dolph O’Brien, an out­stand­ing play­er in the East and Ming Al­leyne, for­mer stal­wart in the Colts Foot­ball Club of Port of Spain.

The day's ac­tiv­i­ties will see vet­er­an teams Moo­sai Sports led by for­mer West In­dies and Trinidad leg spin­ner Harold “Jo”Joseph, Soft Drinks led by James “Scot­ty”Scot and Earnest Wood of Massy Trinidad All Stars fame and Black­pool in ac­tion.
