A confident T&T Under-15 cricket team left these shores yesterday bound for Antigua where they will go into battle tomorrow in the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-15 cricket tournament.
Captain of the team Andrew Rambaran speaking to Guardian Media said he was confident given the quality in his line-up. The West Indies youth player who has been on the T&T Under-15 team for the past two years said: "We have a good bunch of cricketers with us and some in the team were with us last year in Jamaica." Those returning from last year's tournament in which T&T placed fifth are Nickyle Jalim, Orlando James and opener Justin Jaggessar.
Rambaran added: "We have had good preparations and we are looking forward to getting into the park to display our skills. We are looking to better our performances from last time around. Over the years T&T was dominant in Under-15 cricket but has not gotten the type of results we would like in the past two. This unit plans to change all that when we go into battle here in Antigua."
The team has been in training over a month now and has played a number of matches leading up to the tournament.
