Fire Service, the lone unbeaten team in the Premiership Divison of the Courts All Sectors Netball League, will attempt to keep its record flawless when it takes on Police X on Saturday at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena in Tacarigua.
The teams will meet in the final match of five at 5.30 pm, following three matches in the Championship Division and another in the premier category.
Last weekend, led by the shooting of national shooter Joelisa Cooper with an impressive 61 goals from 66 attempts, the firewomen defeated Police Y, 70-37, following up on its opening win against Defence Force (50-35).
Fire faces a Police team which had a successful start to the season beating Police Y (36-31) but went under to the Defence Force (51-25) in the four-team competition.
The army/coast guard combination unit will seek to carry this momentum into its third match of the season, hoping to get a win against Police Y, which is aiming to get its first win to complete round one.
This afternoon's first match passes off at 12.30 pm with Unit Trust Corporation (UTC) taking on Bermudez in the Group X of the Championship Division. Both teams won their opening matches against Defence Force (41-23) and Jabloteah (38-35), respectively.
In the second match, Police X will face off against Defence Force at 1.45 pm in Group X and soon after Open Campus plays Police Y in Group Y action.
On Thursday, teams in the Alternative Division were active and it was goal-shooter Crystal Jones with 28 in 35, putting TT Post past Jabloteh, 31-27, to remain undefeated.
In other matches, Police Y edged the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC), 11-10 and the University of the West Indies (UWI) guided by the shooting of Keonna Noel (14/19) beat Police X, 26-10.
