T&T senior national team midfielder Judah Garcia will join his brother Levi Garcia at Greek Super League club AEK Athens on a three-year contract.
He is set to begin with the B team with the hope of being promoted to the top team. Training for him will begin on Thursday.
Judah has made a name for himself starting from the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) where he scored many goals for Shiva Boys Hindu College to lead them to the National InterCol title in 2017 and was named Player of the Year.
Following his signing he told a local website aekfc.gr: “It is really exciting for me to play in the same team as Levi. We have already done it in our National team, and I hope we will do it in AEK soon. It is a great honour for me and my family to join such a big club with the history of AEK. “I do not hide the fact that I am happy for this development and I believe that there is a huge prospect for my football career”.
‘Pappy’ as he is affectionately called, later progressed to the various national youth teams 9u-20 and U-23), and also represented local clubs Point Fortin Civic Centre, San Fernando Giants and other clubs before moving to I-League outfit NEROCA FC for the 2020/2021 season.
Garcia made his senior international debut against Panama in 2019 under former national coach Dennis Lawrence. He was a member of Terry Fenwick’s team before being featured on Angus Eve’s team during the CONCACAF Gold Cup play-off and during the group phase of the Gold Cup.
Garcia, a native of Santa Flora, who was featured in national colours for the senior nine times said: “It is really exciting for me to play in the same team as Levi. We have already done it in our national team and I hope we will do it in AEK soon. It is a great honour for me and my family to join such a big club with the history of AEK. I do not hide the fact that I am happy for this development and I believe that there is a huge prospect for my football career.”
