T&T Red Force captain Darren Bravo has decided to take a rest before his departure to Sri Lanka with the West Indies team for a series of One day and T20 matches in that country.
Bravo, a left-handed batsman was named on the squad earlier this week but did not travel to Dominica, where the Red Force will be looking to get their West Indies Championship campaign back on track when they face the Windwards Volcanoes from Thursday at Windsor Park.
In Bravo's absence, the T&T Cricket Board (TTCB) has gone for Yannick Ottley as the leader of the pack and he will have as his deputy, Yannick Carriah, who led the West Indies Emerging Players to the Regional Super50 title late last year.
Returning to the squad is former captain Denesh Ramdin, who has served his two-match ban but the board decided to go for Ottley as captain.
Under Bravo, 30, leadership, the T&T Red Force team won one, lost one and drawn one in the tournament to date and will be looking to rebound after their loss to defending champions Guyana Jaguars in their last match.
