Pit & Pub, of Curepe, were emphatic winners in Round 7 of the National Pool League 10 ball competition on Wednesday evening. The Ravy Joseph-2led team defeated Reel Steel Shotters 5-0, condemning the Fyzabad Shotters to their seventh straight loss.
Pit & Pub, playing away from home, started the rout with National player Menon Herrera (5), who came away with a 5-1 victory over Brandon Deo, despite losing the first frame. Shaheed 'Fly' Kondiah (4) took on Felix 'Dan' Reyes (3) in the second game and also came back from a first frame loss to win 4-1.
The doubles pair of Anil Ramadhar and Adrian Mangaroo, racing to four, gave nothing away as they ran out 4 nil winners. Carlos Poyer (4) was also ruthless in his demolition of Ryan Pardasie (3) winning four straight and the self-proclaimed 'Youngest and Baddest' player in the league, Ravy Joseph, completed the shut out with a 4-3 win against Shotters captain Dilip 'Pepper' Deo with both players racing to four.
With the win, Pit & Pub move to the second spot on the league table.
While one team from Curepe was away in Fyzabad, the other was at home at Golden Arches II. The Specialists, captained by National stand out Clint Bachan, were hosting Upper Deck of St. James. The Specialists were coming off a shock loss against Liquidatorz in Round 6, while Upper Deck were coming in on the back of a surprise win against Kenny's. The momentum seemed to be with the St. James outfit as they won the encounter 3-2.
For Upper Deck, Adrian Don Mora, Keris 'Pantz' Carew and the doubles pair of Anslem 'Villas' Villafana and Ian McCall were victorious with Carew winning the deciding fifth game. For the Specialists, National player Vishaal Singh and Desmond 'Blade' Nicholls won the first and fourth games respectively.
In Debe, United Stars returned to the top of the standings with a 3-2 win over Headquarters. Lyndon Ramkissoon, Aaron Raghoonanan and the pair of Nazim Mohammed and Wayne 'Holiday' Rattansingh gave the 'Stars' the win, while Damian Solomon and Nicholas Ramlakha got the consolation wins for Headquarters in the final two games.
In other games, Kenny's returned to winning ways beating Punishers 3-2 at Kenny's in Chaguanas and Liquidatorz' hot streak continued away from home with a 3-2 win over Spar United at Reform Village. Liquidatorz has now won three in a row.
