T&T’s Nicholas Ready overcame Barbadian Lance Castagne-Clermont in straight sets to earn a spot in the main draw of the Junion Level Five (J5) International Tennis Federation World Tennis Tour at the National Racket Centre in Tacarigua yesterday.
Playing in one of three qualifiers on the day, Ready battled past Castagne-Clermont 7-6(5), 6-4 and was joined in Monday’s main draw by USA’s Aidan Kim and Noah Eisenberg.
This after Kim trounced Barbadian Nile Morris 6-0, 6-0 and Eisenberg spanked T&T’s Jamal Alexis 6-2, 6-0.
The trio will be joined in the main draw by the winner of today’s final qualifier between USA’s Alex Marino and Barbadian Ward Trotman, after the latter defeated local player Thomas Chung 7-5, 6-3 in the lone round-of-16 match-up yesterday.
