Keeva Seegobin was impressive behind the wheel this season and for that, he was recognised as the T&T Automobile Sports Association’s (TTASA) Circuit “Sportsman of the Year.”
Seegobin picked up the honour at the annual Circuit Racing prize-giving ceremony and dinner at the House of Chan in Woodbrook, Port-of-Spain, on Saturday.
At the event, Franklyn Boodram was also named the men’s nominee for the First Citizens Sports Awards.
Addressing the gathering, TTASA president Fyzool Madan outlined the association’s achievements for the year, including the number of events hosted, corporate partnerships, an increase in assets and also gave an update on the new lease for the Wallerfield International Raceway.
Similar remarks were also made by competition chairman Devi Nath, treasurer Roger Hutcheon and member representative Ryan Peyrau, who all assured those present that next season is going to be a great year for motorsport in T&T.
Ministry of Sports representative Delissa Blizzard shared positive sentiments toward the association and closing remarks were delivered by newly-appointed vice-president Ashton Eligon.
