T&T girls' team will be hoping to end their involvement in the Pan American Youth Water Polo Championships hosted by the Swimming Union of the Americans (UANA) on a high when they come up against Peru in the playoff match for fifth and sixth spots at the National Aquatic Centre, in Balmain, Couva, from 9 am on Thursday.
This after both teams were handsomely defeated in their respective quarterfinals at the same venue on Wednesday morning.
In the opening quarterfinal, the Breann Jordon-captained T&T girls suffered its sixth straight loss in the competition, 3-24 by Argentina with Tiffanee Green scoring twice, and Tahirah Beepat, the other for the host.
And in the second last-eight encounter, Brazil cruised to s 22-6 triumph over Peru in their all-South American match-up.
Thursday's clash between T&T and Peru will be their second of the week, after the latter won their round-robin face-off, 10-5 on Monday.
Also on Thursday, the women's semifinal will splash off from 10.20 am with Argentina facing round-robin second-placed finishers Canada (4-1) followed by unbeaten USA (5-0) and Brazil from 11.40 am.
The losers of the semifinals will clash for bronze on Friday from 9 am, followed by the gold medal contest at 10.20 am.
