Former W Connection midfielder, T&T international Jomal Williams opened the scoring for AD Isidro Metapan in a 1-1 draw with CF Aguila in their El Salvador Primera Division Clausura Second Stage Group B encounter on Saturday.
The 26-year-old Williams converted from the penalty spot in the 37th minute at the Estadio Jorge Calero Suarez, in El Salvador for his ninth goal of the season and 18th for the club in two seasons for a 1-0 advantage at the half-time interval.
However, that lead only lasted until 11 minutes into the second half for former Mexico and Azerbaijan-based out-of-favour T&T international as Diego Galdamez earned CD Aguila a share of the points with his equalizer.
With the drawn result, Isidro Metapan stayed second on the six-team table with ten points from six matches, one behind CD Chalatenango while Municipal Limeno and Santa Tecla FC have eight points from five matches. CD Aguila is fifth with seven points while CD Sonsonate occupies the cellar-spot with one point.
On Wednesday, Isidro Metapan faces Santa Tecla from 4 pm.
In Group A, Alianza FC leads with 12 points from six matches, four clear of CD FAS and Once Deportivo while Firpo sits the fourth and final qualification spot to the playoffs with seven points, just ahead of Jocoro FC, with Atletico Marte, sixth with four points.
