Please allow me to comment on the predicament for NIS pensioners from excerpts of the 2015 budget. One newspaper headline read Slice of pie for all, but really, as a NIS pensioner with no increase to my NIS monthly pension, I say my slice is missing. The other category of pensioners is granted an extra $500 per month and so I must ask Mr Howai what's the difference between the two classes of old-age pensioners?
One category gets an increase without contributing financially, and the other who contributed to NIS over years of their hard-working life is ignored?I thought I heard some platform promises prior to the 2010 general elections saying that all old age pensions will be synchronised, but this was in 2010 and maybe its not time for this event.
In the meanwhile, I continue to ponder as to when will all NIS pensioners be compensated with an adjustment to their monthly pensions.
