M&M Real Maracas captured the $15,000 Emerald Apartments & Plaza sponsored Eastern Football Association Premier Division "Big Four" title after a 0-0 with last year's winner, Joe Public at Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya on Tuesday. Going into the match, Real Maracas led with maximum six points and needed only a draw while Joe Public was second with four points and needed nothing less than full points. However, at the end of the 90 minutes of regulation time at Macoya, the Maracas players had done enough to add the 'Big-Four" crown to the EFA FA Trophy they won last month at the same venue.
Real Maracas also earned the lone spot available to the T&T Football Federation Champion of Champions Tournament which serves as a qualifier for the bmobile National Super League. For the runner-up spot, Joe Public collected $7,500 while former winners' Carib won by default from St John's United to end with four points and third spot worth $4,500. St John's United got $3,000. Yesterday (Thursday), the First Division "Big Four" continued with second round matches while the competition ends on Thursday with the final slate of matches.
