T&T is pursuing a domestic target of generating ten per cent of its electricity from renewable energy resources by 2021.
However, in spite of excellent preconditions for renewables, clean energy solutions are still relatively rare. To promote sustainable development, the University of T&T in collaboration with the Energy Chamber of T&T will host a conference on Renewable Energy: Road Map 2021–Where are we and are we on track? tomorrow at 8:30 am.
Five renowned renewable experts will discuss the chances of a clean energy supply for T&T during the conference to held at the UTT Energy Campus in Point Lisas. Among them is Eric Borremans, co-ordinator officer at the Swiss-based clean energy provider, Meeco Group, who will speak about recent solar energy projects in the Caribbean through his company's joint venture with PV Energy Limited.
