The Government must be made to understand that when it locks down an area to arrest crime, it is only addressing a part of the problem. It is important that it corrects, and be seen by the citizens of these areas to be correcting, all the ills that affect them, as this would further reduce crime in these areas.
Proper schools, support facilities, pre-schools, community and health centres should be the Government's main focus in these hot spots. The building or repair of these facilities should not only be used to provide jobs for the people of the district but should help the residents develop a sense of pride and responsibility for their areas.
