Problem: Paras Ramoutar from Caparo said, "For several weeks, I have been complaining about a massive leak in the WASA service line to my residence...Reports have been made to WASA Hot Line; WASA's Montrose office and to WASA workers in the area, and all to no avail."Mr Ramoutar said the water service line has a hole and is expanding.
As a result, he said, "The water supply to my residence is limited; it flows in my yard and on the road which has now become a health and safety hazard; and most serious of all, the flow of the water pitches and hits the electricity pole."
Problem: Vishnu Suraj sent an e-mail to the Guardian Angel on behalf of his uncle, San Juan resident Hansraj Balraj on March 18.Mr Suraj said, "Last week Friday (March 14), WASA came in their (Mr Balraj's) area and changed some water mains. After the repairs were done, WASA has thus far not turned on the water supply."My uncle went into WASA's head office in St Joseph this morning but got no positive response."
Solutions: In Mr Ramoutar's case, WASA said the leak on the service line was repaired on March 20.Mr Balraj's water supply was restored on March 21. It had not been done earlier because there was a problem with a defective valve that was affecting the supply to his street that needed to be repaired.
