A post mortem on a Claxton Bay pensioner who died when his car crashed at St Margaret's on Monday confirmed he died of a heart attack. On Monday evening, 60-year-old Ramnarine Bridgelal, of 29 Macaulay Trace, Claxton Bay, was heading home after buying medication for himself, when he crashed into a ditch. He died at the scene while attempts were being made to rescue him.
Police from the St Margaret's station said shortly before crashing, Bridgelal stopped and told several people he was experiencing severe chest pains. Police suspected the chest pains may have caused Bridgelal to press the accelerator, causing the car to race out of control. The autopsy was done at the San Fernando mortuary yesterday afternoon.
