The unidentified man who was shot and killed in Morvant on Friday has been identified as 22-year-old Keston Mc Kellar.
His mother, Joy, is calling on the police to ensure that her son gets the justice that he deserves.
She explained that her son was an outpatient of St Ann's Mental Hospital and believes that he may have had a mental episode and was shot and killed as a result.
"In this rounds you can't talk to nobody and you can't say who but I don't know who and why. I just heard it's two youth men who killed my son but everybody have children and what goes around comes right back around. God knows what went on," Joy said.
She also spoke of her frustration at the Forensic Science Centre, "They told me to come 9 o'clock this morning and the body wasn't brought here yet and now they're telling me I might have to come back on Wednesday morning. I not working anywhere and don't have money to be up and down so I don't understand why they have me here wasting time and money that I don't have."
An official at the Forensic Science Centre told Guardian Media that bodies are escorted from the respective mortuaries to the Centre and in Mc Kellar's case the body is yet to be brought to the Centre via police escort.
"That's just how it is here. The families does have to wait on the police and we can only make things happen when the bodies are brought in," the FSC official said.
On Friday around 4:14 pm officers responded to a report of a shooting in progress at LP 66 Second Caledonia Extension, Vegas, Morvant.
On arrival they saw Mc Kellar lying face down on the ground.
He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he succumbed to his injuries.
The scene was processed by personnel attached to S.E.R.U and the following items retrieved: four 5.56 spent shell casings, and one projectile.
