The uniden­ti­fied man who was shot and killed in Mor­vant on Fri­day has been iden­ti­fied as 22-year-old Ke­ston Mc Kel­lar.

His moth­er, Joy, is call­ing on the po­lice to en­sure that her son gets the jus­tice that he de­serves.

She ex­plained that her son was an out­pa­tient of St Ann's Men­tal Hos­pi­tal and be­lieves that he may have had a men­tal episode and was shot and killed as a re­sult.

"In this rounds you can't talk to no­body and you can't say who but I don't know who and why. I just heard it's two youth men who killed my son but every­body have chil­dren and what goes around comes right back around. God knows what went on," Joy said.

She al­so spoke of her frus­tra­tion at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre, "They told me to come 9 o'clock this morn­ing and the body wasn't brought here yet and now they're telling me I might have to come back on Wednes­day morn­ing. I not work­ing any­where and don't have mon­ey to be up and down so I don't un­der­stand why they have me here wast­ing time and mon­ey that I don't have."

An of­fi­cial at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre told Guardian Me­dia that bod­ies are es­cort­ed from the re­spec­tive mor­tu­ar­ies to the Cen­tre and in Mc Kel­lar's case the body is yet to be brought to the Cen­tre via po­lice es­cort.

"That's just how it is here. The fam­i­lies does have to wait on the po­lice and we can on­ly make things hap­pen when the bod­ies are brought in," the FSC of­fi­cial said.

On Fri­day around 4:14 pm of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to a re­port of a shoot­ing in progress at LP 66 Sec­ond Cale­do­nia Ex­ten­sion, Ve­gas, Mor­vant. 

On ar­rival they saw Mc Kel­lar ly­ing face down on the ground.

He was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex where he suc­cumbed to his in­juries.

The scene was processed by per­son­nel at­tached to S.E.R.U and the fol­low­ing items re­trieved: four 5.56 spent shell cas­ings, and one pro­jec­tile.
