Tevin Balfour got the loan goal as visiting Defence Force edged Bethel United in their National Super League Premier Division encounter at Mt Gomery Ground on Sunday to extend its lead at the top of the table.
After a 0-0 first-half, Balfor conjured up the game's decisive item in the 76th minute to silence the home crowd and push his team to 15 points from six matches at the end of Round Six, four more than newcomers, Marabella Family Crisis Centre and 1976 Phoenix, who battled to a 0-0 draw at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella. At Guaya Recreation Ground, Guaya United outplayed Stokely Vale 4-2 with a goal each from Jody Alsop, Carlon Hughes and Ryan Stewart along with an own goal from the visitors.In the two other matches played, Jesse Edwards scored a pair for Siparia Spurs in a 3-2 defeat of Matura Reunited at Petrotrin Ground, Fyzabad while National Lotteries Control Board La Horquetta S.A and FC Santa Rosa battled to a 1-1 draw.
