Permanent secretary in the Ministry of National Security Desdra Bascombe says the Citizens Security Programme (CSP) is committed to ensuring stakeholders and beneficiaries have easy access to information. She said this at yesterday's launch of the programme's Web site at the Police Administration Building, Port-of-Spain.
"I am pleased how this achievement has been assisting the Ministry of National Security in keeping the various sectors of the community informed by spreading the positive work of the Ministry of National Security as it continues its mandate to reduce crime," Bascombe said. She said the Web site was a critical component of its public relations strategy and was using current technology to make it more dynamic and hold the interest of young people.
On the site, at www.csp.gov.tt, citizens can download crime status, addresses of the CSP, community projects, data from 14 police stations and other activities. Programme co-ordinator Gregory Sloane-Seale said as the country grappled crime, the community should assist in reducing it.
