Twenty persons were arrested and charged yesterday by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, Charford Court Base, for breach of the Covid-19 Regulations.
According to police reports, officers were conducting exercises in Port of Spain between the period 4 pm and 8 pm, on May 7th, when they went to a recreation club located on Henry Street around 6.20 pm.
The officers observed a total of 20 persons engaged in recreational activities, including consuming alcohol, in breach of the Covid-19 Public Health Regulations. The persons, ages 23 to 88, were arrested and taken to the Central Police Station, where they were formally charged with the offence. The TTPS continues to urge citizens to adhere to the Public Health Regulations and welcomes information on possible breaches.
