The Internet, when used properly is an extremely comprehensive advertising tool. And one local artiste has decided to take advantage of the technology available to him by taking the bold step to launch his own Web site. Collis Durante, leader of the popular group The Unlimited Soul Project, said that his decision to launch the site came out of his desire to keep giving back to his fans and supporters who have helped him achieve his present success.
The Web site, www.collisdurante.com, was conceptualised three months ago by Durante and his managers, Babash Media Events Ltd have undertaken the task of its design. The launch is scheduled to take place on October 2 at Fairways, Maraval.
Explaining the initiative behind it, Durante said the site will give the fans a location to which they can navigate to gain insight into what is taking place with him, as well as hear the best of the Unlimited Soul Project group. "With things advancing daily around us, we have to keep up to date with the technology at our disposal and keep our faces out there for the world to see," Durante said.
"The site is just another one of our initiatives to enhance and improve on ourselves as a group." From music videos and song lyrics, to live performances and photo galleries, music lovers worldwide will soon be able to access the latest the group has to offer.
Education is high on Durante's list of priorities, and he said that the Web site will also feature a section containing educational readings from which children could benefit.
Also, there will be a chatroom feature where avid fans can gather to hold discussions on the serious lyrical content of many of his songs, as well as important life topics. "I am presently working on my album and the Web site will also give the fans information on the details of the album launch," Durante said. "My music has a lot of value and I want to ensure that when my album is done, it's quality is very high," he continued, adding that the group already has enough music to launch three full length albums. "I am not rushing the release of my first album because as I started to grow and realise where the music takes me, it has become less about budget and more about getting the right people to recreate the sound I am looking for."
