Medical marijuana has been in the news recently as a treatment for a variety of medical conditions, including glaucoma, pain and nausea from cancer chemotherapy treatment and other illnesses. Doctor of Oriental Medicine Dr Lionel Mayers, meanwhile, said there are other alternatives besides medical marijuana for treating ailments and diseases, some that are hundreds of years old that people are rediscovering.
Speaking to the Sunday Guardian from his Soul Mind Body Renewal Institute office in St Augustine, Mayers said “There are many other alternate treatments and medicines that are used for patients with cancer, one of them is Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT) in which the patient is treated with low-dose chemotherapy and insulin.
“The patient is injected with insulin prior to chemotherapy in order to trick the cancer cells into the active phase, the ‘feeding phase.’
“The newly primed cancer cells are now more permeable and unable to reject the chemo after consumption."
He said some of the treatments include Rife and ozone therapy, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Shiatsu massage, thermography scans and Dark-field microscopy.
He said American scientist Royal Raymond Rife invented the Rife machine in the 1920s.
Mayers said it produced electromagnetic frequencies and Rife cured 16 terminally ill patients with various cancers back in 1934.
He said even after Rife’s death in 1971, his work to a large extent was still carried on mainly underground because the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) hadn’t approved it but that hasn’t stopped its use from spreading.
Mayers said a good Rife machine can treat at least 100 to 150 diseases “quite well” and he did not know of a single case where he put someone on the machine and they did not show rapid improvement.
He said some of the diseases the Rife machine treated were cancer, leukaemia, Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as asthma and diabetes, also arthritis, Lupus, Giardia infection, candida, carpal tunnel syndrome and cataracts.
Mayers said Johanna Budwig, a German biochemist, devised a plan to kill cancer in the 1950s using flaxseed, flaxseed oil and cottage cheese which is now referred to as the Budwig diet or protocol.
He said when the flaxseed oil and cottage cheese were blended, a chemical reaction takes place between the sulphur protein in the cottage cheese and the oil, which makes the oil water-soluble for easy absorption into a person’s cells.
Mayers said cottage cheese was rich in sulphur protein, the same sulphuric group that was often contained in cancer drugs and saturated fats, while flaxseed oil was rich in unsaturated fats.
He said Budwig also devised a Ketogenic diet which used very little sugar to starve cancer cells and gradually shrink them because they had nothing to feed on.
Mayers, a member of the American Guild of Hypnotherapists, said the Ketogenic diet was very similar to the Mediterranean diet when an epileptic patient was put on the diet, most times the seizures stop after several weeks.
He said most of these simple treatments from the 30s were effective but were buried.
Mayers said drug companies were not interested in cures; it was more profitable to have people taking pills and medicine for life.
He cited a Goldman Sachs biotech research report ‘Is curing patients a sustainable business model?’ of April 11, 2018, which said cures could be bad for business.
Mayers said Robert R Barefoot said in his book Death by Diet that mainstream medicine, along with the pharmaceutical industry, suppressed information on the effects of diet on health, and in particular the role of calcium and other minerals in preventing and treating diseases.
He said, however, people around the world were experimenting with alternative treatments for various diseases such as natural therapist and nutritionist Walter Last from Australia.
Mayers said Last developed a cancer protocol to alkalise the body as the first and most important step to stop tumour growth and possibly shrink tumours.
He said Last knew already for many years that tumours needed an acidic environment to activate the enzymes to dissolve and invade surrounding connective tissue.
Mayers said the Australian researched an experimental study showing the exact pH levels (acid-alkaline balance) at which tumours invaded or shrunk and developed his cancer protocol.
He said Last even researched using Boron for curing arthritis.
Mayers said as more research and advancements in technology occur, more alternative treatments will develop such as the recent infrared treatment for Parkinson’s.
Near-infrared light (NIr), a low-level laser or LED (light-emitting diode) is a new neuroprotective approach being tested in labs for use in treating Parkinson’s disease and numerous other diseases and conditions such as Alzheimer’s, stroke, and ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).
