Children and families experienced the wonder of science at McDonald’s Happy Family event last Saturday with exciting space-themed activities.
Guests were thrilled by the series of interactive games and exercises at the Cipriani Boulevard restaurant, which animated their interest in the marvels of space and technology.
The activities, which were held in collaboration with NIHERST, introduced guests to fantastic new ways of learning about space with attractions such as a solar scope to observe the sun, a star express drawing game to test knowledge about our galaxy, and a Constellation Quest game which had guests immersed in learning and re-creating the constellations.
Youngsters were also delighted to participate in face painting and space-themed craft-making.
The event was in honour of the new Happy Meal toy collection featuring Peanuts, in partnership with NASA—US National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
The collection celebrates the fascinating role of the beloved Snoopy character in landmark space missions, as NASA commemorates the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
The Apollo 10 lunar module was christened “Snoopy,” which successfully explored and identified potential landing space for the Apollo 11 mission, which transported the first astronauts that walked over the Moon. Charlie Brown also got in the action, lending his name to Apollo 10’s command module.
“It is a pleasure to provide an experience for children and families to learn through play,” said Kalifa Duncan, Market Supervisor, Arcos Dorados Trinidad Ltd.
“We look forward to our Peanuts NASA Happy Meal collection providing many meaningful moments of fun and knowledge-sharing for families in Trinidad and Tobago.”
The new Happy Meal contains a mix of books and toys, with fun facts about space missions brought by NASA itself; and is an initiative to spur children’s excitement in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
