Nineteen-year-old Chiari Soverall has been charged with the 2021 murder of Shabiram Bandool. Soverall who is presently detained at the Golden Grove Maximum Security Prison in Arouca is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate tomorrow.
He was charged following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, on August 30th.
According to police reports, Bandool, 60, a taxi-driver of Felicity, was found injured outside a vehicle on February 5th 2021. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in a critical condition.
Soverall was charged with the offence of wounding in connection with the incident and remanded into custody. The victim however, died on June 25th, 2021, as a result of the injuries he sustained.
Investigations were supervised by Supt. (Ag.) Dhilpaul and Sgt. Jones, both of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three. Soverall was charged with the offence by Cpl (Ag.) Augustus, also of HBI Region Three, on Monday 5th September, 2022.
